Well, once upon a time, a very long time ago, when I was ikkle and even more pretentous than I am now, I used to spell my name 'Nicci'. Anyway.. at the time, I was the proud owner of an Atari 520STfm, which happend to come with a text-to-speech synthesis program.
This program would pronounce 'Nicci' more like 'Neechi'. Many years later for some reason, probably after retelling this very same story, a shortened version of this became my nickname.
I just find it rather amusing that coincidentally, the word Neech is an Arabic word for 'fuck', and is also slang for the area of skin between your navel and pubic area.[1]
